Challenges

Emergency preparedness, children's safety, and planning for disaster.

History

Fairfax citizens have been quick to help each other when an emergency strikes, pulling together to dig out from the 2005 flood, and help each other to deal with landslides. Many of us have become involved with building resilient communities, and getting CERT trained.

Solutions

Getting ahead of the curve in emergencies means thinking about what our needs might be, and where resources are located. Planning means learning where various routes and trails are, who your neighbors are, which ones have what skills, and who might need your help.
